The pandemic has led the companies to think something different than before and, coming back to the office is not the choice. Big giants like Google, Facebook, Microsoft are not in plans to get their employees back to the office. Some companies like slack have announced permanent work from home options that saved expenses to the company as well as increased productivity.
A distributed company is the adoption in the current situation and would continue to be the same by now. The trend was set by Square and Twitter immediately after the lockdown and set it as the future of the workplace. These are the leading technology companies and the changes which the company has set are followed by others in many ways. The rethinking of distributed work has helped to sustain many businesses.
The basis for this forward-looking working model is further development [of] our corporate culture. These changes will also be associated with a different leadership style, one that focuses on outcomes rather than on time spent at the office. We trust our employees and empower them to shape their work themselves so that they can achieve the best possible results. With the new way of working, we’re motivating our employees while improving the company’s performance capabilities and sharpening Siemens’ profile as a flexible and attractive employer.” said Siemens
Being in office and waiting to complete 9 hours and waiting for the log out time is no more in action. As per the recent research, 73% of the companies said the revenue increased after implementing the Distributed working culture. Also, companies agreed the expense has reduced by half including the office rent.
Companies have to work on changing the leadership structure and the type of CEO they choose to lead the company. Because getting work done from employees in a remote location is a task and letting the employee choose their convenient place to work and tracking the growth of the company would be a difficult task which the leadership has to focus on.
The offices which we were working on are the part of past, and many companies do not feel that the physical office is of any use from now. Distributed companies will be the future in any circumstances and any possible breakdown.
